Free & Balanced K9 Training Contract. 

Policy and Procedures For Private In Home Sessions

Free and Balanced K9 Training will endeavor to create as safe of an environment as possible for the training and boarding care of the dog(s) identified in the contact email or messages (the “Dog”). Free and Balanced K9 Training will offer only safe, sound, and responsible training, care, and post-boarding training instructions. Owner agrees that all animals may exhibit unpredictable behaviors including but not limited to the risk of dog bites to Owner and that Free and Balanced K9 Training will not be held liable for the actions of the Dog that are outside of the control of Free and Balanced K9 Training.

Free and Balanced K9 Training agrees to hold Owner harmless from and against any claims of but not limited to: injury, expenses, costs, loss or damages caused by the gross negligence or willful misconduct of Free and Balanced K9 Training while the Dog is in the sole custody, care and control of Free and Balanced K9 Training. Owner acknowledges that Free and Balanced K9 Training has no control over the Dog when the Dog is not in the exclusive custody, care and control of Free and Balanced K9 Training, and Owner agrees to hold Free and Balanced K9 Training harmless from and against any and all but not limited to: claims of injury, expenses, costs, loss or damages caused by the actions of the Dog when the Dog is not in the sole custody, care and control of Free and Balanced K9 Training.

Owner fully understands the tools and techniques that May or May Not  be suggested to train and modify the behavior of their dog and agrees to an open conversation about the tools and techniques which include but are not limited to: Prong Collar, Bark Collar, Remote Training Collar, Slip Lead, Food, Muzzles, Flat Buckle collar, and Martingale collar.

Payment Policy:

Owner acknowledges the requirement of a full payment before the start of the first lesson with Free and Balanced K9 Training. If for any reason before 5 days of your first session, you decide to cancel your package agreement, Free and Balanced K9 Training will issue 75% of your money back minus the price of any online products that were included . For an agreed on payment plan, the owner acknowledges the requirement of a full first payment of the agreed on payment plan before the start of the first lesson with Free and Balanced K9 Training. If for any reason before 5 days of your first session, you decide to cancel your package agreement, Free and Balanced K9 Training will issue 75% of your money back minus the price of any online products that were included. Owner acknowledges that all purchases of online products are non refundable

Free and Balanced K9 Training requires a 48 hour notice of cancellation or rescheduling or a fee of $125 will be charged. Free and Balanced K9 accepts payment through Square and Venmo. 

All tools recommended by Free and Balanced K9 Training are to be paid for by the dog's owner. Free and Balanced K9 Training does have discounted prices for E-Collars through E-Collar Technologies if you wish to purchase through them. All other tools are to be ordered and purchased by you, the owner per Free and Balanced K9 Training's recommendation. 

Photo/Video Release (All Clients):

I hereby assign and grant to Free and Balanced K9 Training the right and permission to use, reproduce, distribute, and publish the photograph(s), film(s), videotape(s), audio and video recording(s), electronic representation(s) and/or sound recording(s) made of me and/or my dog(s) at any time during the training and/or boarding of my dog(s) by Free and Balanced K9 Training, and I hereby release Free and Balanced K9 Training from any and all liability resulting from such use, reproduction, distribution, and publication.

I hereby authorize the reproduction, sale, distribution, copyright, exhibit, broadcast, and/or electronic storage of any and all such photograph(s), film(s), videotape(s), audio and video recording(s), electronic representation(s) and/or sound recording(s) without limitation at the discretion of Free and Balanced K9 Training.

Trainer Arrival Agreement:

Please have your dog on a leash and either in a seperate room with the door shut or behind a secure gate.  If we are meeting out in a public location, please have them leashed and safely secured in your vehicle. This will give us the chance to talk safely and without distractions so we can focus on setting up goals and a plan of action.

Physical Activity Agreement: 

During your dog's training, we will spend a good amount of time in the outside world doing lots of things around lots of natural objects, dirt, grass, cement, trees, fencing, bushes, interacting with lots of other dogs, and humans. It is likely that your dog is going to get scratched, bumped, or bruised. Your dog will most likely get some wear and tear on him/her. Things are bound to happen even though we will take special care in planning our environments. 

Training Prep and Washington Weather:

A lot of times sessions are started indoors but eventually we will take these lessons out into the real world. This means we will get rained on, walk around a lot or  be out in the sun. Please plan accordingly to the weather so our sessions are more fun and enjoyable and you are able to absorb the information rather than be out of sorts due to the weather or because you're not wearing the right shoes or jacket. It is also difficult to absorb the lessons if you are hungry and or dehydrated so please eat and drink lots of water before our appointments as well as perform some kind of somatic check in for yourself so you are approaching the sessions with a clear and ready mind. 

I use food as a way of communication and teaching a dog. The easiest way to use food in training is to not feed our dog's meal in a bowl but to hand feed throughout the day. I recommend having a training pouch to put your dog's food into that can be easily worn but coat or pants pockets will work just fine in a pinch. 

After Care:

Free and Balanced K9 Training will send you the needed notes and training videos specific to you and your dogs needs within 2-4 days of the training session. If you are not added to the program being used before your session, let Free and Balanced K9 Training know so it can be addressed right away. You and your dogs success is ultimately in your hands. Free and Balanced K9 Training will provide the most up to date training and skills sets that is known to them and that is specific to you and your dogs needs. After that it is your responsibility to implement and practice these skills before the next session. You will be provided the link to schedule all future sessions through email. It is not Free and Balanced K9 Trainings responsibility to remind you to schedule your next training session. All questions or concerns retaining to the training videos, notes or sessions are to be sent through email or through the program that is used for the session notes, Free and Balanced K9 Training will respond at their earliest convenience.
